Christmas

We hope and pray that all have had a wonderful Chritmas and are looking forward to a great new year. Each year at this time I a seem to be reminded of the verse that reads "behold all things are mande new again" and it seems to fit so well with the idea of a new year.Personally, I do not usually make new years resolutions. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against them-in fact that is the point I want to make. GOD constantly gives us the opportunity for "new beginnings" his grace not only makes it possible, that's what is grace is: the opportunity for us to change from hell-bound sinners to ghildren of GOD. A truly life changing event. But it also means a chance to make redirect the path of our life in more subtle ways. These new paths could be to be a little more careful in what we eat, read, listen to or watch. It may mean taking the first steps toward being a better friend, student, spouse, coach, teacher, leader, parent, player, etc. It may mean resolving to NOT get mad at the first thing that person (who annoys us so much) says. It may mean putting CHRIST's objectives (love, mercy, holiness) before our own when we so badly want to correct someone or something. It may be a sin or obsession that we hold on to in an attempt to make ourselves feel better, even though we know it is only hurting us in the end. Let it go!So let us take the chance to enjoy GOD's ability to make all things new again. There are very few instances in the Bible where things have gotten so bad, that HE would not bless a believer's decision to try to improve a situation. Thank GOD for new years, and new beginnings.
